{October 31st}

I grew up with the annual Hallelujah Night instead of Trick or Treating.  And guess what?  I had a ton of fun and I think I turned out pretty normal;)

When we had our first born, Madeline, we decided to continue this tradition with her and all of our children.  The first time Maddie was asked what she was going to be for Halloween, she got a confused look on her face and asked, "Do you mean Hallelujah Night?"  So cute:)

These are some pictures from last night's Hallelujah Night and a couple from Lily's parade at her school - the trio had a blast!  Next year, I'll have 4 kids to keep track of - yikes:)!

This picture makes me smile:) I love Jude off to the side, wanting no part of this!

Wind Blow, Fire Fall!

Let Your wind blow
Let Your fire fall
Let Your wind blow
Let Your fire fall
Let Your wind blow
Let Your fire fall on us!

El Roi

Our church is currently doing a 40-day fast. Forty days of on purpose drawing closer to God. I have challenged myself during this fast to write more songs - 4o new melodies to be precise:) I am also disciplining myself to tune in to what God is saying. He gives ears to hear and eyes to see and that's what I long for. This song was birthed out of one of those times:

I'm El Roi
The God who sees you
You feel alone, but I am near you
Lift your eyes unto the hills
Your help comes from my hand

I'm making water in the desert
Causing crooked paths to straighten
Healing, Saving, Binding, Breaking
I AM, I AM

Opening doors no man can close
Pouring out My healing oil
Rest in Me and find your strength
I AM, I AM

The God who sees
The God who knows
The God who hears your cry

Be encouraged, the Lord knows you better than you even know yourself. He is a friend who never leaves or forsakes. You may feel invisible, but God Almighty sees you, knows you and loves you.

Heaven's Purpose

I feel like challenging myself this year to journal what I'm studying, learning, hearing from God - so, I've started a "spiritual" blog of sorts. I've blogged for awhile in the adoption community, but never about anything all that deep, just keeping track of my kids and their accomplishments:)

So, "Honey From the Rock." This title is taken from a sermon that my dad preached. It's sometimes life's hardest times that give you the sweetest rewards. It inspired me to write one of my first "good" songs (in my opinion at least!)

Like honey from the rock
Oil from Your throne
Lord, Your Word restores my soul
My spirit is renewed
My thoughts are one with You
Heaven's purpose now my own

What would happen if we truly made Heaven's purpose our purpose? If we set aside our agenda for His....If we really surrendered all for the advancement of the Kingdom of God...?

I'm ready...
